As the Founder, Director and Choreographer of Hampton Roads premier Mexican Dance Company, The Hispanic Folk Ballet, Beatriz has used the arts to promote better understanding of Mexican culture through dance and music.

Beatriz founded the Hispanic Community Dialogue Organization in Hampton Roads, to inspire and promote civic participation and constructive conversation about important issues impacting the community.

Mrs. Amberman has been a radio broadcaster in Hampton Roads for the past 17 years

Beatriz Amberman is the Medical Office Manager of her husband’s Family Practice in Virginia Beach. She has been trained as a Court Certified Mediator by the Virginia Beach Social Services Department and as a moderator and facilitator by The Kettering Foundation, in Dayton, Ohio, and The Virginia National Public Policy Institute.

Awards:

Beatriz Amberman has been honored with numerous recognitions, including The YWCA Woman of Distinction 2000 Award. The 2003 and 2004 Recognition for the Advancement of Human Rights, was presented to her by the Virginia Beach Human Rights Commission.

The Mexican Government, through the Ministry of Foreign Relations, honored Mrs. Amberman with the highest recognition given to people of Mexican origin: The 2004 OHTLI Award given to the altruistic labor of persons of Mexican descent, who contribute to opening ‘The Way” and making the road less difficult for future generations .

On May 11, 2005, The City of Virginia Beach and the Convention and Visitors Bureau presented Beatriz Amberman with the Ambassador Extraordinaire Award, for Unselfish Dedication to the City’s Economic Enhancement.

On September 29, 2005, Beatriz was recognized with the 2005 L.D. Britt, M.D. award and Medal, for Untiring Service to Mankind.

March 21, 2007, The Virginia Conference for Community and Justice, an organization dedicated to eliminate prejudice and bias in all its forms, presented Mrs. Amberman with the 2007 Humanitarian Award recognition.

PRAXIS

Egresada de la Licenciatura en Informática con especialidad en Computación del Instituto Politécnico Nacional. Cuenta con un diplomado en Mercadotecnia en el Web, de la Universidad de Berkeley con Infotec y un Diplomado en Alta Dirección (AD) del Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección de Empresa (IPADE).

Su trayectoria profesional data desde 1986, ha participado en proyectos de empresas grandes como el Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social, IBM, WalMart, American Express, BBVB-Bancomer, entre otros. Participo en el proyecto de internacionalización de Softtek, fue socia de esa firma y Directora responsable de atender al segundo cliente más importante, Teléfonos de México.

En 1996 en conjunto con otros profesionales del ramo funda la empresa Praxis. En 1997 logra que el desarrollo de la Planeación Estratégica, se realice en Wharton School de la Universidad de Pennsylvania.

Desde su inicio como socia fundadora de Praxis ha participado activamente en el área comercial, estableciéndose relaciones de negocio de largo plazo.

Ha participado activamente en diversas asociaciones empresariales, fue consejera desde 1986 hasta 1999 de COPARMEX Ciudad de México, fue Tesorera en 1995 a 1996 de la Asociación YCW (Young Career Woman) capitulo México, en la AMITI (Asociación Mexicana de la Industria de TI), en el 2000 fue coordinadora y fundadora de la Mesa de Empresas Desarrolladoras de Software, impulsando y fortaleciendo el sector, a través de realizar en conjunto con el Gobierno el Plan Nacional para este sector, PROSOFT.

Su contribución más importante en la industria de TI fue lograr del 2002 al 2005 que las 11 empresas más importantes del Sector formaran la empresa integradora EMPEIRIA, de la que fue miembro del Consejo de administración y Vicepresidenta, para fortalecer a la industria Mexicana de Desarrollo de Software y crear una ambiente de competencia ético y profesional.

Actualmente su principal objetivo es consolidar proyectos grandes en el sector gobierno para Praxis, y consolidar clientes a nivel internacional como Chrysler en el modelo de Fábrica de software, y expandiendo las operaciones a Florida, Estados Unidos.

PRAXIS es una empresa mexicana de consultoría y desarrollo de sistemas CMMI nivel 5 y que cuenta con más de 500 integrantes. Ha sido rankeada por TOP COMPANIES los últimos 3 años, como una de las mejores empresas para trabajar. Socio Fundador del MPA (Microsoft Project Association), para fortalecer las mejores prácticas en Project Management. Tiene oficinas en Canadá, Monterrey, Panamá, Texas, Querétaro y en MIAMI a partir de Julio del 2008.
